NMRC presents at the Neuromodulation Symposium

The University of Minnesota held its annual Neuromodulation Symposium on April 20 and 21st. The talks and presentations bring eminent researchers to Minneapolis and the NMRC's hometown. We are grateful for speakers, volunteers, administrators, poster judges, sponsors, and researchers who make this happen!

Our group sent a large continent to the poster session. Below are some posters and their presenters:

1. 'Intermittent burst deep brain stimulation differentially modulates neuronal firing in the globus pallidus externus and improves parkinsonian motor signs.' Presented by Sana Amoozegar, PhD.

2. 'Effect of mild parkinsonism on slow-wave sleep and neural activity in the primary motor cortex.' Presented by Kit Acedillo

3. Patient-specific, three-dimensional Cartesian parcellation of the internal segment of theglobus pallidus for localizing pathophysiological activity and deep brain stimulation leads in Parkinson’s disease and dystonia.' Presented by Ben Pobiel.
4. 'Parkinsonism Alters Task-Related Neuronal Activity in the Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex.' Presented by Noah Hjelle.

5. 'Classification of parkinsonism using subthalamic local field potentials recorded from deep brain stimulation leads.' Presented by Ethan King.

6. 'Examining the relationship between Parkinsonian motor signs, spontaneous eye behavior, and subthalamic nucleus oscillatory activity measured from DBS leads.' Presented by Bharadwaj Nandakumar, PhD.

More information about the conference, past and future, can be found here. Mark your calendars for 2024 and keep an eye peeled for the NMRC!
