The Neuromodulation Research Center took a brief sojourn from its northern fastness to visit sunny San Diego for the Society for Neuroscience conference! Ten presenters highlighted some of the work going across our clinical and pre-clinical projects.
This April saw the 9th Annual Neuromodulation Symposium draw researchers from around the globe to present their work at the University of Minnesota. Among the many panels, covering both clinical and basic science topics, experts in the field presented on the many uses of neuromodulation: from alleviating the symptoms of major depression to its effect on the teenage brain. The NMRC team presented several posters....
Congratulations to the NMRC team on a new publication in the Journal of Medical Devices. Our researchers have been examining a modal based approach to estimate viscous damping and stiffness of the elbow in the PD condition.
Ajay Verma receives postdoctoral trainee award for talk at the Udall Centers for Excellence Annual Meeting
Dr. Ajay Verma was recognized for his talk "Basal ganglia activity during REM sleep movements in Parkinson's disease."
Since the first Udall grant awarded to the University of Minnesota in 2016, the team here has been conducting outstanding work in bringing cutting-edge research to the clinical fore. Renewing this award allows another five years in which our team can make strides in treating the million-plus Americans diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders.
