Ying Yu

Dr. Yu works as an research associate in the Neuromodulation Research Center at the University of Minnesota. Ying works on uncovering the pathophysiological changes occur across the basal ganglia thalamo-cortical circuit in a progressive model of parkinsonism using electrophysiological recording techniques, as well as understanding the pathophysiology and the physiological mechanisms of therapeutic treatments in Pakinson's disease.

MnDRIVE (Minnesota Discovery, Research and InnoVation Economy) Initiative Neuromodulation Postdoctoral Fellowship.

Project Title: Selective modulation of neuronal activity in thalamus by ‘field steering’ deep brain stimulation (DBS) of internal globus pallidus for treatment of Parkinson’s Disease (PD) in a 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) non-human primate model (NHP). MNDRIVE
